Pakistan became an independent nation on 14th August 1947 after being governed by British Empire for years. The date 14th August, 1947 is a day when two nation theory came true; two nation theory means that Muslims and Hindus are two different nations and they can not coexist together in a single state because their religions, cultural norms and values are different. Each year, we Pakistanis celebrate this day with great enthusiasm in order to show love and patriotism for our country. We achieved this independence after remarkable efforts and handwork of our leaders who are still living in our hearts like Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and many other leaders who made sacrifices for this day.
The vision of Founding Father of this country, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was that he wanted to see this country a modern democratic state, an Islamic Welfare society, a country where justice is prevailed, where everyone enjoys their rights of religion and culture according to their own norms and values. Jinnah in his speech on 11 August said that it is the duty of government to maintain law and order in society and protect the rights of people including the right to religion, right to property, and the right to life. He wanted a tolerant society where everyone’s beliefs and opinions always be respected. He just wanted to elevate Pakistan as high as Mount Everest.
But after his death, his beliefs faded away and corruption, tyranny, injustice, inequality became common in the country and that gave rise to many issues, resulting in the partition of Bengal in 1971 which impacted our country adversely. Ignorant behavior of citizens of Pakistan toward the principles of their leaders has brought turmoils to the country and these turmoils have always destabilized our nation.
Let’s have a look at the current situation of Pakistan, it has now become an epicentre of problems, where you will see only injustice, political instability, intolerance, economical crisis, religious discrimination. Now in current situation, Pakistan is facing a huge political and economic crisis, where no plan has been made to overcome all these situations. Was this the vision of Jinnah? Where are the principles of our Founder? When will the vision of Quaid come true?
Jinnah had always given importance to youth. He advised youth not to exploit themselves because they are the future of Pakistan and are responsible to take Pakistan on the great levels of development. They are the leaders of tomorrow. He had given advices to students at several occasions like at Dhaka on March 22, 1948 he said, “My young friends, students who are present here, let me tell you as one who has always had love and affection for you, who has served you for ten years faithfully and loyally, let me give you this word of warning: you will be making the biggest mistake if you're allow yourself to be exploited by one political party or another's Your main occupation should be in scaring to yourself, in fairness to your for fathers in fairness to the state to devote your attention to your education He had always insisted students on education, discipline. But today’s youth doesn’t follow the principles of Our Great leader and this is the reason our youth is not on the right track.
It is a reality that the nations who have forgotten their past and have not learned from their history, their founders, leadership, can not flourished and develop. This country came into existence after great sacrifices and if we want to make our country a better country, we have to follow the principles of our great leaders. We have to just change our priorities and perform our duties with faith and devotion.
As Jinnah said, Without faith, discipline and selfless devotion to duty there is nothing worthwhile that you cannot be achievement goals
